Quantum B Secures European Patent for Groundbreaking Post-Quantum Encryption Key Distribution Method and Device

We are thrilled to announce a major milestone at Quantum B. Our patent application for the Post-Quantum Encryption Key Distribution (pQKD) method and a device has been officially published by the European Patent Office (EPO). This patent, filed under application number 23461518.5 and published as EP 4 418 605 A1, will represent a significant leap forward in secure communication and cybersecurity, particularly in the face of potential threats from quantum computers.

The pQKD solution developed by our team is designed to provide enhanced security against cryptanalytic attacks, ensuring robust protection for critical infrastructure. It fully emulates QKD devices at the protocol level and features a genuine quantum entropy source, along with the recently standardized post-quantum ML-KEM, (Module-Lattice Key Encapsulation Mechanism) by NIST (as FIPS-203 known before as CRYSTALS-KYBER). This device is a crucial component of our Quantum Cryptography Migration System (QCMS) solution, enabling clients to begin the migration process without significant budget allocations.

Moreover, the device is now available for purchase in its pre-production form. Our patent agent shared the exciting news that the EPO has provided a completely positive prior state of the art report, indicating a strong foundation for our technology.  To learn more about our solutions, please contact us.
