Our Team
Quantum Blockchains, Inc. has been founded by five entrepreneurs from Poland, China and the US. Three of the founders have scientific background, and before the startup inception they created the theoretical foundations for quantum blockchains described in peer-reviewed scientific journals (see “Our Papers” section). Two of the founders also have experience in the financial services industries, both based of out Europe and the US.
Dr Mirek Sopek
CEO
Dr Mirosław Sopek is a graduate of the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of the Lodz University of Technology. He received his doctorate at the Faculty of Chemistry in the field of Theoretical Chemistry. In 1989 he founded the digital agency MakoLab which went public in 2007. In 2014 he created Chemical Semantics Inc, and in 2017 LEI.INFO – both in the state of Florida, USA. He is also the CTO at MakoLab SA.
Prof. Piotr Kulicki
Chief Researcher
Prof. Piotr Kulicki is a director at the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin. He was the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy for many years. He is an outstanding logician and our link to wider academic community.

After obtaining seed funding from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development based on EU funds, our startup was able to attract a group of five excellent individuals, specialists in quantum information sciences and software development.
Marta Misiaszek-Schreyner
Chief Quantum Information Science Researcher
Dr Marta Misiaszek-Schreyner graduated from the Department of Physics of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń Poland. Her PhD, on "Applications of Single Photon Technology" was written under Prof. Piotr Kolenderski. During her internship, she worked with Quantum Optics Group of National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD, USA.
Miriam Kosik
Quantum Information Scientist
Dr Miriam Kosik graduated in Physics from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń,Poland. During her PhD studies, she was engaged in a project that combined quantum optics, solid state physics and software development. She gained scientific experience through internships in Donostia International Physics Center in Spain and at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. Miriam also has professional experience in Python programming and data analysis.
Agata Kamińska
Developer
Agata is studying Mechanical Engineering and Applied Computer Science at the International Faculty of Engineering at the Technical University of Łódź. She previously worked as a Web Developer and has joined Quantum Blockchains to work on wallet development and to support the Quantum MetaChain team.
Piotr Łuniewski
Developer
Piotr Łuniewski graduated from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of Łódź University of Technology . After a successful career in the banking industry, he moved on to work at MakoLab SA for almost 20 years and has developed a wealth of experience across a wide range of domains including Software Development and Quality Assurance (QA). Piotr recently joined Quantum Blockchains and is now working on developing interfaces to QRNG devices.
Łukasz Kujawski
Senior blockchain developer
Lukasz is a Software Engineer specializing in blockchain technology with experience in all aspects of the development cycle for web3 projects. He formerly worked on complex, cloud-based web solutions. Lukasz’ passion for building decentralized systems led him to join Quantum Blockchains, where he is now responsible for implementing our Quantum MetaChain.
Konstantin Skopec
Blockchain developer
Konstantin graduated from the Department of Informatics of the Catholic University of Lublin. He previously worked at MakoLab on a major blockchain project. Konstantin has now joined Quantum Blockchains and is also working on the team to create our Quantum MetaChain.
Ryszard Olejnik
Developer
Ryszard Olejnik graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Łódź University of Technology. He has been working at MakoLab SA for more than 20 years and has developed a wide range of experience in software development . After joining Quantum Blockchains, he is now working on developing interfaces to QRNG devices.
Rafał Ligmann
Senior cloud specialist
Rafał graduated from the Department of Electronics of Poznan University of Technology andcurrently works as an architecture and development consultant in the Cloud and DevOps space. . He specializes in system design of modern and secure applications in multi cloud architectures. Rafał also frequently lectures in both academic and non-academic settings. After joining Quantum Blockchains, he is now actively working on merging the QRNG / Quantum-based services with wide and flexible cloud environments using DevOps Methodology..
