Quantum B CEO, Dr. Mirek Sopek Wraps up Summer with attendance at Q-CON conference and Annual Klaster Q Meeting

Dr. Mirek Sopek, CEO of Quantum B, recently participated in the prestigious Q-CON Conference: Shaping the Future of Quantum, held on September 6, 2024, at the University of Gdańsk. This high-profile event brought together renowned experts, including keynote speakers Prof. Charles H. Bennett of IBM (co-inventor of Quantum Cryptography) and Prof. Harald Weinfurter of the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, who shared insights on the transformative impact of quantum technologies.  Prof. Marcin Pawłowski, with whom our startup collaborates, delivered an important lecture and presented his company, SeQure Quantum.

The conference was officially opened by Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the University of Gdańsk, with a notable address from Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdańsk, highlighting the city’s commitment to supporting quantum innovation.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged with a diverse lineup of presentations, panel discussions, and startup showcases, exploring topics from quantum readiness to the legal implications of quantum technologies. The event served as a vibrant platform for discussing the future of quantum technologies and their role in reshaping the future.

Additionally, Dr. Sopek took part in the annual meeting of Klaster Q (Klaster Technologii Kwantowych), which Quantum B is a founding member of to discuss general matters including Klaster activities and policies.  Klaster Q, established in May 2022, aims to leverage the knowledge and resources of private enterprises, scientific research units, and high-tech sector institutions.
