Quantum Blockchains, Inc. has been founded by five entrepreneurs from Poland, China and the US. Three of the founders have scientific background, and before the startup inception they created the theoretical foundations for quantum blockchains described in peer-reviewed scientific journals (see “Our Papers” section). Two of the founders also have experience in the financial services industries, both based of out Europe and the US.
Dr Mirek Sopek
Dr Mirosław Sopek is a graduate of the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of the Lodz University of Technology. He received his doctorate at the Faculty of Chemistry in the field of Theoretical Chemistry. In 1989 he founded the digital agency MakoLab which went public in 2007. In 2014 he created Chemical Semantics Inc, and in 2017 LEI.INFO – both in the state of Florida, USA. He is also the CTO at MakoLab SA.
Prof. Piotr Kulicki
Prof. Piotr Kulicki is a director at the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin. He was the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy for many years. He is an outstanding logician and our link to wider academic community.
Dr Xin Sun
Dr. Xin Sun is a graduate of Tsinghua University in philosophy. He holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Luxembourg. He held the position of "Visting Scientist" at the University of Oxford (Department of Computer Science). He was an associate researcher in Sun Yat-sen University and is currently a researcher at the Catholic University of Lublin, Poland.
Victor Thkifati is a graduate of Brooklyn College where he completed three fields of study: Business Management and Finance, Marketing and Arts/Film. He has worked for Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and currently works at Société Générale, NYC as vice president.
Jerzy Karasiuk graduated in foreign trade / management and finance from Warsaw School of Economics. He has over 25 years of operational experience in finance / asset management / M&A. For many years connected with PZU Group. In 2011-2015, Member of the Management Board, CFO at PZU Lithuania.
After obtaining seed funding from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development based on EU funds, our startup was able to attract a group of five excellent individuals, specialists in quantum information sciences and software development.
Quantum Information Science Specialist
Marta Misiaszek-Schreyner graduated from Department of Physics of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She is now finalizing her PhD "Applications of single photon technology" under Dr Piotr Kolenderski. During her internship she worked with Quantum Optics Group of National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD, USA.
Andrzej Gajewski graduated from Department of Physics of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He is finalizing his PhD in the domain of Quantum Optics and Plasmonics. He is also accomplished software developer. During his internships he worked at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and at Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (imec) in Belgium.
Cezary Haliniarz graduated from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology. He accumulated a great body of coding experience from his works for multiple companies and startups. He was the author of the code for our first Quantum Blockchain simulator and is now working on the production grade version of the code.
Piotr Łuniewski graduated from the Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics of Lodz University of Technology. After a career in banking industry he has been working for MakoLab SA for almost 20 years accumulating a large body of experiences in various domains of software development and QA. In our startup he is now working on the interfaces to QRNG devices.
Ryszard Olejnik graduated from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Lodz University of Technology. He has been working for MakoLab SA for more than 20 years accumulating huge experience in software development of extremely diverse character. In our startup he is now working on the interfaces to QRNG devices.
